Download and Burning to CD - Theatre Music Shop

You will require a broadband Internet connection to be able to download the music files. Once you have purchased your tracks you will be directed to a secure location to download your music files. You will also receive an order confirmation email with a link to your MP3 download files. This link will expire in 48 hours in which you will be allowed 3 download attempts.

As with all shopping cart purchases your web browser settings must be set to have cookies enabled. If you have problems downloading please contact: support@theatremusicshop.com

On many computers, clicking on the MP3 download button (or MP3 link) will only play it!

You must SAVE your files onto your computer.

Here's how to save the file to your computer so you can burn a CD or transfer it to your portable player:

Windows PC or Linux

Right-click on the download button (or MP3 link) and choose the option for Saving the link (or target). It will say "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." or "Download Link..."

A new window will open that will show the MP3 file name and where it is to be saved.  

Don’t click on “SAVE” until you have selected where you want to place your MP3 file.

Now this is important:                                                                                      

At the top of this window it will say “save in:” -------------                                                    

(A location will have been pre-selected by your computer)

YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO PUT YOUR MP3 FILE –

For example: my music, itunes or desktop. If you are unsure then select “desktop”. This is the easy option because you can always find your MP3 files again later on your desktop for playing or burning onto CD.

If you are downloading a complete album it will be saved on your computer as a “zipped File”

(This allows transport of multiple tracks in one file)

You will then be able to see your individual MP3 tracks and be able to save and play them in your music player/iTunes etc.

Mac OS X

Hold down the option key and click on the link to the MP3 file. It will download to the Desktop (or other folder if you set one in preferences).

If downloading a complete album it will arrive as a “Zipped” folder.

You will need to “extract” your files from this folder.

These MP3's can easily be listened to on your computer.

Most computers made in the past several years include everything you need out of the box. You need to have a sound card (which most recent PCs include, and all Macs have one built-in), a way of hearing the music (either speakers or earphones) and you need MP3 player software already installed (such as Windows Media Player, iTunes for Mac or PC, MusicMatch).

You can also listen to these on portable audio players such as iPods.

You cannot, however, listen to MP3s on most Audio CD players (like car CD players or portable CD players). For that, you need to "burn an Audio CD" from the MP3s (a process which will automatically convert them to the appropriate format and put them on a CD).

To convert these MP3s to Audio CDs playable on a "normal" CD Player:

You need to burn an Audio CD on your computer. Most computers include software that can do this. If not you can also download such software for free: including MusicMatch, Jukebox, WinAmp, iTunes, etc.

When you "burn a CD" of these MP3s, the software converts the MP3s into the standard Audio CD format (called AIFF files) -- if not, make sure the preferences in the software are set to burn an "Audio CD," not an MP3 CD.

To burn your CD on your PC or Mac you first need to locate your previously saved MP3 file.

If you saved on your desktop then you will see the MP3 file there.

Now “Right Mouse” click the MP3 file. This will highlight the file and give you a series of options in a drop down menu.

Now click on “add to burn list”.

You can add more than one track to this list.

Your PC player program will now open and you can click on “Start Burn”

You will be also prompted to put a blank recordable CD into your computers CD tray.

Once this is in place then your track (or tracks) should be burnt onto your CD automatically.
